Research and Development

Innovating for the future

Since our inception, we at TEA have focused on research to ensure that our products and services are always innovative, one step ahead of the market. We have more than 20 years' experience in the creation and management of research projects ranging from multispectral imaging to multisensory use, and over the years we have obtained 3 national and international patents. Two are the leading products resulting from this activity: AIVES and @MMIRA.

PROJECTS

AIVES

Telling stories to give voice and life to works and places

What does it mean to make a museum usable for a diverse audience, i.e. visitors with different abilities? The key word is multisensory. The AIVES project (Arte e Innovazione Visioni Emozioni Sensazioni - Art and Innovation Visions Emotions and Sensations) has made it possible to create a system for the multi-sensorial enjoyment of works of art which is accessible to all potential visitors to museums, art galleries and libraries, whether they are able-bodied or disabled. In this way, in addition to allowing those who are visually impaired to "see" a work of art, the visiting experience of the able-bodied is enriched by offering the possibility of getting to know the artefacts through a multimodal approach involving as many senses as possible.

Making the invisible visible, you can!

Ammira is a software for the virtual restoration of damaged documents, the result of a more than ten-year research programme carried out by Tea since the late 1990s and concluded in 2015. The projects carried out were Isyreadet, funded directly by the European Commission, Res.T.-Arts, @mmira and Itaca. It was created to meet the needs of scholars for image analysis of ancient texts. Unlike common graphics software, Ammira allows the processing of multispectral images. In a user-friendly way with Ammira you can highlight erased palimpsests, analyse hidden text, improve readability, virtually erase stains.
